Alexander Dennis, a subsidiary of NFI Group Inc., today announced that it has delivered another highly-specified Enviro400 double-decker to English independent operator Roberts Travel Group.
Bought to further upgrade Roberts’ bus fleet to full PSVAIR compliance, the new vehicle is fitted with real-time passenger information, three Mobitec scrolling screens and an Ardent ClearConnect induction loop for the hard of hearing.
At 11.5m long, it has 85 Lazzerini Pratico seats fitted with three-point belts throughout. Externally, it’s finished to a high standard in Roberts’ smart charcoal-and-silver livery with alloy wheels.
It joins three similar Enviro400 double-deck buses in the fleet, all bought since 2017. As with the earlier buses, the new vehicle will be used on a mix of work, including private hire, rail replacement and school contracts.
Roberts Travel Group, founded in 1995 by Chairman Jonathan Hunt, celebrated 30 years in business last year. Based in Hugglescote, Leicestershire, Roberts now runs more than 100 vehicles on a mix of work that includes private hire, park-and-ride services, corporate contracts and its own holiday programme.
It invests heavily in the customer experience, both on its vehicles and off: it has opened a brand new, state-of-the-art booking office and customer lounge at its premises this year.
