Alexander Dennis, a subsidiary of NFI Group Inc., a leader in propulsion-agnostic bus and coach mobility solutions, today announced that it has supplied another two Enviro400 double deck buses to Lochs Motor Transport, based in Lewis in Scotland’s Western Isles.
The new buses are 11.5m long vehicles with 85 seats. Three-point belts are provided at all Lazzerini Pratico high-backed seats, which are double-padded and trimmed in Camira moquette with vinyl headrests. USB-A and USB-C charging ports are integrated into seatbacks. Altro wood-effect flooring is complemented by tinted windows to deliver a refined travel experience.
Hanover Displays has supplied destination screens and the audio-visual passenger information. A public address system can be used to play radio and recorded content throughout the vehicle, while a Centrad 11-camera CCTV system increases safety and security.
The new buses are joined by a former demonstrator of the same type, which Alexander Dennis has adapted to the operator’s specification in its AD24 Workshop in Anston.
Lochs Motor Transport will use the high-capacity Enviro400 on a shuttle route for visiting cruise ship passengers, linking Stornoway’s deep-water terminal to the town centre, as well as on school services and private hires.
