Rhys Hoosan
“I’m in the second year of my apprenticeship as a Mechanical Fitter Engineer at our Scarborough factory. I joined Alexander Dennis in 2023 as my uncle works here and he told me about the opportunities for skills, and the interests of the company.
“I enjoy that the people at Alexander Dennis that I work with are really welcoming and help to advance my career.
“I’m gaining knowledge of the engineering process and manufacturing through Alexander Dennis and the college. Being rotated around the factory gives me an understanding of everything in the company, and we are capable of doing many different jobs when needed.

Max Sheppard
“I joined Alexander Dennis in June 2024 as it is a future conscious organisation that involves a wide array of professions so there is a lot to learn from a many intelligent people.
“I’m based in Scarborough and working on a Level 3 Information Communications Technician qualification. My apprenticeship covers many areas of IT such as in depth looks into security, operating systems and networking. This allows me to take in knowledge outside of my job role which I may not have normally been exposed to. This experience can be applied to my role allowing me to be more efficient.
“What I particularly enjoy about working for Alexander Dennis is that the people are great and friendly, so its been easy to form good relationships.
“So far my experiences at Alexander Dennis have taught me the importance of time management. The wide customer base has also improved my communication skills, so I feel I’m learning skills that will last me for life.”

Elsie Kalle
“I am currently in my second-year of an apprenticeship as a MechElec technician at Alexander Dennis’s Anston service centre. I have always had a great interest in the mechanics and electrics of vehicles. My uncle works at Cummins UK and when I told him about the job opportunity to work for Alexander Dennis, he advised me that it be a great company to work for.
“I get great support from my mentor, colleagues, and all staff at Anston. They are all very supportive and I can always ask them for advice and help when needed.
“I am looking forward to the next two years of my apprenticeship so that I can go out in the field with the field service team, meeting customers and gaining more experience.”
Ibrahim Chowdhury
“I’m an Apprentice Body Technician at the Alexander Dennis workshop in Harlow.
“I joined the company in 2022, having become interested through friends in the bus sector and after seeing how different the industry works to the car industry.
“Working for Alexander Dennis teaches me a lot of skills which will support my future career, such as understanding the building and repair processes and ensuring a quality finish. I enjoy learning about factory standard and understanding product information, as well as getting good training for new products the company is bringing to market.
“With the welding and quality skills I’m learning, as well as the great teamwork we have, I’m able to do my part for the future success of Alexander Dennis.”

Seth Bowman
“I joined Alexander Dennis because it was highly recommended and a lot of my family have worked here previously. I’m now in my second year of my Engineering Mechanical Fitter apprenticeship, having started in 2023.
“I enjoy the rotation and the new learning as well as the fun aspect of working with the other factory workers. I’m gaining a lot of practical experience as well as a great engineering qualification at the college.
“Being rotated around the factory for placements allows us to be able to know anything and everything that is needed of us, which means we can really support the business wherever we’re needed!”
