Your role, responsibilities and current profile
The purpose of the role is to provide Mobile Field Service Support on Alexander Dennis products. Applicants must be able to diagnose and repair Mechanical, Electrical and Body related faults, in particular the successful applicant must have a high level of electrical knowledge and experience, coupled with strong fault diagnostic capabilities. In addition to relevant motor vehicle experience and qualifications, ideally gained on Passenger Service vehicles, applicants must hold a Full UK Driving Licence and ideally hold a current PCV Driving Licence.
A good level of computer literacy is required to operate laptop diagnostic equipment. As the position will be “field based” the successful applicant will need to be self-motivated and able to communicate with Customers and Colleagues at all levels.
This role will involve deep diagnostics and repairs on both standard driveline and Hybrid buses. Candidates selected for interview will need to be able to demonstrate their ability in these disciplines including a good understanding of modern diesel engines, braking systems, gearboxes and the principles of electricity. In addition, candidates should be able to identify and describe the function of electrical components, read circuit diagrams and carry out fault tree diagnosis.
If successful, full training on ADL products and a Company Van will be provided.
The standard hours of work will be 37 hours per week, the engineer’s daily start and finish times time will be variable and will be determined by the Regional Service Manager. The daily shift will be between 05:00 hrs and 20:00 hrs, dependant upon operational requirements within the region.
To meet the needs of our Customers, the successful applicant will also be expected to work an element of overtime. Should this be required, this may include working outside of these core hours and will include some weekend working, which will be on a rota basis. For this reason a degree of flexibility is therefore required from the successful applicant. Where additional hours are worked, appropriate overtime payments will be made.
Salary will be commensurate with experience.
