Alexander Dennis offer various Modern Apprentice opportunities across the organisation.
An example of the apprenticeship schemes we offer are a Modern Apprentice (MA) in either Automotive Engineering or Electrical Automotive Engineering across our UK manufacturing sites: Falkirk, Scarborough and Guilford. The successful applicant would be enrolled in a 4 year training plan, resulting in achieving a National Certificate (NC), a Higher National Certificate (HNC) and a level 3 vocational qualification (VQ) in the chosen discipline. The NC and HNC would be gained through attending a local College, day release, while the VQ is measured against work based learning, experience which is gained through helping and assisting build the UK’s most popular buses and coaches with lots of hands-on practical training.
Some of the Modern Apprentices have chosen to progress and have completed relevant qualifications in their field at HND or even degree level.
The current Modern Apprentices programme has been in operation for over 10 years, and as a growing company Alexander Dennis has demonstrated a firm commitment to the development of apprentices. They have an opportunity at Alexander Dennis to achieve their capabilities and develop skills, we can proudly say that we have an excellent retention rate with our apprentices stay and many develop further within our company after the apprentice period. This demonstrates the value of Modern Apprenticeships to both the company and local community.
