Alexander Dennis, a subsidiary of NFI Group Inc., a leader in propulsion-agnostic bus and coach mobility solutions, today announced that Faresaver Buses has taken delivery of another two high-specification Enviro400 double-deck buses.
The pair are part of a larger order of four Enviro400, and follow delivery of the first two buses in the spring.
These four buses are the first brand new double-deckers Faresaver Buses has owned.
Together, they represent an investment of over £1 million for the family-owned operator, which was established in 1979 and operates routes in and around Bath and North and West Wiltshire.
As with the two previous buses, the new deliveries are 10.9m long with 77 seats. They are fitted with Alexander Dennis SmartPack efficiency technology to lower emissions and improve fuel economy.[1] They are certified as low-emission buses, which means Faresaver Buses benefits from enhanced Bus Service Operator Grant (BSOG) payments and can use them in nearby Bath, which operates a Clean Air Zone scheme.
The buses are liveried in Faresaver’s striking paint and vinyl scheme. Internally, they are specified to a high standard, featuring Altro wood-effect flooring, Lazzerini Pratico high-backed seats with USB-A and USB-C charge points, and destination equipment plus interior monitors from Hanover Displays. An Ardent induction hearing loop system is fitted, making the buses PSVAIR-compliant.
Handover took place at Faresaver Buses’ Chippenham premises.
Speaking at the handover, Alexander Dennis Regional Sales Manager Mark Taylor said: “We are thrilled to deliver this second pair of Enviro400 to Faresaver Buses. The first two delivered in the spring have gone down really well with passengers on the company’s flagship routes around Bath and Wiltshire, so we’re delighted to think of that passenger satisfaction being doubled with the new arrivals. We’re so proud that Justin and the Faresaver team have chosen Alexander Dennis for this major investment in high-quality, low-carbon buses.”
Faresaver Buses Commercial Manager Oscar Taylor said: “Passenger and driver feedback for the two double-deckers delivered earlier this year has been positive, so we’re thrilled to put these buses into service alongside their 25-plate counterparts. They provide greater capacity, a benefit we are particularly grateful for on some of our busy school runs, which in turn delivers improved efficiency.
“It’s a milestone year for us, with these four fantastic new flagships representing an investment of over £1m for our family business. We’re grateful to Barry Stevens at Mistral Asset Finance for helping to seal the deal, and as always, very happy with the service and support from Mark Taylor and the team at Alexander Dennis.”
