Alexander Dennis, a subsidiary of NFI Group Inc., today announced that it has supplied two new Enviro200 midibuses to Bedfordshire independent operator Grant Palmer Limited.

This latest delivery takes the number of Enviro200 bought brand new from Alexander Dennis by Grant Palmer since 2015 to 20, demonstrating the company’s consistent investment in modern buses. In total, Grant Palmer operates 31 Enviro200, which make up three quarters of its entire fleet.

The award-winning, locally-owned company is a leading operator in Bedfordshire, where the latest Enviro200 will be used across its expansive network of scheduled bus services. A member of the ALBUM grouping of independent bus companies, Grant Palmer’s 70-strong team includes six engineers that benefit from the business’s Earned Recognition status.

The new Enviro200 are 8.9m long with 30 passenger seats each. They have been fully built in Britain, helping to underpin skilled engineering and manufacturing roles at Alexander Dennis and throughout its supply chain.

They utilise SmartPack efficiency technology, developed in-house by the manufacturer, to increase fuel economy and reduce emissions. Certified as low-emission buses, this qualifies Grant Palmer for Bus Service Operators Grant (BSOG) incentive payments.[1]

Managing Director Grant Palmer said: “We’re delighted to continue our consistent investment in better buses for our Bedfordshire customers with the arrival of this latest pair of Enviro200. We keep coming back for more Alexander Dennis buses as they’re the best in class for efficiency and suitability for rural operations. We’ve been very pleased with the fuel economy – especially given the current price of diesel!”

Martin Dunleavy, Regional Sales Manager for Alexander Dennis, added: “It’s great to see another two Enviro200 midibuses join the immaculate Grant Palmer fleet where they join many similar vehicles in reliably delivering low operating costs. We’d like to thank company founder Grant Palmer and his team for continuing to support British engineering and manufacturing with this latest purchase and we look forward to continuing to work together.”
