Alexander Dennis, a subsidiary of NFI Group Inc., a leader in propulsion-agnostic bus and coach mobility solutions, today announced that it has supplied a high-capacity Enviro400 double-deck bus to Hammonds Coaches of Nottingham, England.
The repeat order followed the successful introduction late last year of a similar vehicle, the first bought new from Alexander Dennis by the independent operator.
The new Enviro400 is again built to a high-capacity specification with 85 passenger seats, with three-point belts at all fixed seats alongside USB charging points for customers.
Drivers benefit from Alexander Dennis’s digital dashboard and a tachograph is fitted to allow flexible utilisation on school contracts as well as staff transport to and from an online retailer’s warehouse.
Managing Director Nick Hammond said: “The Enviro400 we bought last year has proven itself as a very capable and versatile member of our fleet, with low operating costs thanks to its efficient and easy-to-maintain driveline. This positive experience made Alexander Dennis the obvious choice for further investment into our high-capacity fleet and we’re delighted to welcome this latest double-decker.”
Simon Wood, Regional Sales Manager for Alexander Dennis, added: “Hammonds Coaches’ decision to return to Alexander Dennis for a second high-capacity Enviro400 underlines the model’s strong performance in all operational environments. With its proven driveline efficiency and flexible specification, the Enviro400 continues to deliver value for operators seeking reliability and versatility across a range of services.”
Mistral Finance supported the new deal with a five-year hire purchase agreement.
