Alexander Dennis, a subsidiary of NFI Group Inc., one of the world’s leading independent global bus manufacturers, today announced that Manchester Airport has put into operation two new, low-carbon Enviro200 single deck buses in its customer transport fleet, which provides car park shuttle buses as well as airside operations.
The new British-built, 10.8m long buses are equipped with bespoke racking for passengers’ luggage. The vehicles are fitted with the award-winning Alexander Dennis SmartPack efficiency technology that ensures they are certified as Low Emission Buses by the Zemo Partnership.
These latest vehicles were bought directly from Alexander Dennis by the airport, which pre-pandemic served almost 30 million passengers annually. They join a similar pair leased through Mistral earlier in the year, while a fifth Enviro200 is also on order.
Head of Customer Transport at Manchester Airport, Hardik Modha, said: “Modern and easily accessible buses are an important part of our service delivery for our customers and we’re pleased to be able to put these two new Alexander Dennis buses into service for the busy summer months.”
Charlie Miller, Alexander Dennis Senior Regional Sales Manager, added: “It’s always a pleasure to work with Hardik and the team at Manchester Airport and we appreciate their repeat orders which show that with its combination of easy access and low emissions, as well as the availability of luggage racking, our Enviro200 is the right vehicle for ground operations at airports.”
