A new Plaxton Cheetah XL has joined the 24-strong fleet at Bakers Coaches, based in Moreton-in-Marsh, Gloucestershire.

The thriving business, which is strategically located on the county border is a well-known family-run operation serving Oxfordshire, Stratford-upon-Avon, the Cotswolds and beyond.

Over a 30-year period it has earned an outstanding reputation for reliability and quality services and has no less than 12 Plaxton models in its current fleet.

Managing Director Mike Baker commented: “We have had a close working relationship with Plaxton over many years and operate Premiere, Prima, Panther and previous generation Cheetah models. The new 230bhp XL will fit nicely into our fleet operating on school runs, day trips and private hires.

“We have always been impressed by the flexibility, fuel efficiency and performance of the Cheetah and the XL takes that to a new level, offering a luxury finish and increased luggage space, which is a big bonus.  I’m confident it will bring an added dimension to our broad-based product offering.”

This latest addition to the fleet at Bakers Coaches is a 9.6m Euro6, 36-seater. It has Brusa seats, all with three-point safety belts, Thermo King air conditioning, alloy wheels and sophisticated light and sound systems.

The Cheetah XL is supported by Plaxton’s extensive network of service agents and is available at power ratings of 177 bhp and 230bhp. It combines a British-built, stainless steel body with the proven Mercedes Atego chassis, offering a package of high performance benefits, including power-shift gearbox.
