Two new Plaxton Leopards have joined the 15-strong fleet at Wembley based Bessway Travel Limited.

The family-run business, which has been in the industry for 40 years, has taken delivery of a 59-seat model and a 72-seat version, both of which will be used to support their extensive school operations across North West London – and as part of their day trip and private hire fleet.

Mike Heffernan, Managing Director at Bessway Travel Limited, commented: “The Leopard is a terrific coach. It is stylish and has a real street presence, while delivering exactly what it promises in performance terms. The 72-seat version with the three-plus-two arrangement opens up further opportunities in the school sector, which is a big part of our business. Coupled with our new 59-seat model the pairing gives us complete flexibility and a wide variety of options.”

Bessway’s new Leopards are based on the B8R Volvo chassis, powered by D8K 7.7 litre, Euro6 350bhp EGR engines with Volvo I-Shift automated transmissions. They also have full air suspension, I-start dual battery systems, Thermo King roof-mounted climate control, Alcoa alloy wheels, disk brakes, reversing cameras and sophisticated DVD systems.

Both vehicles are also fitted with driver support systems, including lane departure and collision avoidance technology.
