Cheetah XLs join Richardson fleet as demand continues to grow

Richardson Travel, based in Midhurst, West Sussex, has added two new Cheetah XL coaches to its fleet of 18 vehicles.

The company, which celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, already has a strong line-up of Plaxton and ADL products in its fleet, including Panther, Paragon and Profile coaches, along with an Enviro400 double deck.

“We have a long relationship with the ADL-Plaxton team, which has helped us establish and grow our business across West Sussex, Hampshire and Surrey during the past four decades – and we are now experiencing more demand for vehicles that can carry around 35-36 passengers.

“On that basis, the Cheetah XL is the perfect candidate. It is fuel efficient and economical to run but, at the same time, it is stylish and comfortable, which is ideal for day trips, school outings and private hire,” said Charlotte Adams, Operations Director at Richardson Travel.

She added: “Customers expect a bit of opulence these days and with carpets, sophisticated lighting, entertainment and DVD systems our new 36-seat Cheetahs provide just that. At 9.6m in length they also retain their superb manoeuvrability and turning capability.

“As ever, we’re delighted to be working with sales personnel like Mark Taylor – and the whole back-up team at ADL-Plaxton – who know and understand how challenging it is to be serving demanding customers across three counties.”

Richardson’s two new Cheetah XLs are 177bhp Euro6 models, which combine Plaxton built, stainless steel bodies with the proven Mercedes Benz Atego 1223L chassis and  Powershift 3 automated manual transmission.
