More Enviro200s for growing Excelbus fleet

Published: 12 Oct 2016 | Written By Alexander Dennis

Four new Alexander Dennis Limited (ADL) Enviro200s have joined the fleet of Johnsons Coach & Bus Travel, which operates from Henley-in-Arden, near Stratford-upon-Avon.

With 100 vehicles, divided evenly between buses and coaches, the Johnsons name is spread far and wide across the Midlands – and Excelbus, the brand name for its bus operations, is now at the heart of services in Stratford-upon-Avon, the Cotswolds, Banbury, Coventry and Rugby.

Apart from these town and inter-city routes, Excelbus also works with local authorities, schools and colleges to provide day-long transport solutions for students and in a bid to further enhance its broad-based services it has been introducing a variety of route alterations lately.

These include improved timetables on the newly created Routes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6, which will integrate the four new Alexander Dennis Enviro200s as part of the improvement plan.

John Johnson, Commercial Director at Johnsons Bus and Coach Travel, commented: “We are delighted to introduce the Enviro200s as part of our on-going improvement plan. They are stylish, well received by drivers and passengers, and perform well, all of which is critical in terms of providing bus services that operate timely and efficiently. I’m sure they will be a big success, just like the other Enviro200s that already form part of our Excelbus fleet.”

All four of the new Enviro200s are 10.8m, 39 seat Euro5 vehicles, powered by Cummins four-cylinder engines and with Allison gearboxes.
