New Plaxton models take Henshaw's investment to £1.5m

The delivery of two state-of-the-art luxury coaches from Plaxton – a Panther B8R and a Cheetah XL – is a further demonstration that Henshaw’s Executive Travel, based in Moreton-in-Marsh, Gloucestershire, is now well established as one of the most enterprising, independent transport companies in south central England.

These latest vehicles take investment by the company in facilities, fleet improvements and people development in the past year to almost £1.5m.

Bus services operated by the company now include contracts with county authorities in Gloucestershire, Worcestershire, Warwickshire and Oxfordshire, and in parallel with this Henshaw’s have been busy extending their coach activities across the UK and into mainland Europe.

“We have taken a twin approach to business development, consolidating and increasing our contract bus services with county councils, while simultaneously extending coach activities through corporate work, private hires, weddings, theatre trips, sports events, day outings and journeys into Continental Europe,” said Managing Director Danny Henshaw.

He added: “What has become clear to us is that event organisers and passengers now expect luxury travel, whether on a day trip across the Cotswolds or an extended journey in Europe.

“That is why we have gone for the Plaxton B8R Panther and the Cheetah XL. They both combine luxury with style and promote everything we are trying to say about our business. We also know from experience that the parts, service and back-up from Plaxton is superb.”

Henshaw’s new Panther B8R is a 12.8m, 53-seat model complete with toilet, fridge, air conditioning throughout and reversing cameras. It is powered by a 350bhp Euro6 Volvo engine and has an I-Shift gearbox.

The Cheetah XL is a 9.6m version with 36-seats, all of which have three-point safety belts. It also has air-conditioning and alloy wheels. Built on a 12-tonne Mercedes Atego chassis it is powered by a 230bhp engine, coupled to a PowerShift gearbox.
