Andrew’s of Tideswell has boosted its 30-strong fleet with the introduction of two new Plaxton Panthers, both of which will be used to support the company’s ever-growing day trip and tour operations.
With air conditioning, reversing cameras, DVDs and monitors, centrally located washroom and fridge facilities, plus all-age seatbelts, the new 12.8m 53-seat coaches are finished to a luxury standard and will sit comfortable alongside the extensive line-up of Plaxton vehicles that form the backbone of the Andrew’s fleet.
Based in the village of Tideswell, near Buxton, in Derbyshire, the Andrew’s name has become synonymous with trips to major events across the UK, including many hardy annuals such as the Edinburgh Military Tattoo, Crufts, The Grand National, Olympia, Malvern Spring Festival and a raft of horticultural shows that include Tatton Park, Harrogate, Hampton Court and of course Chelsea.
Over its 85-year history the family-run business has also established itself as a leader in the provision of holiday packages that cover the length and breadth of the UK, the Isle of Wight and the Channel Islands, and into mainland Europe, including new initiatives this year that incorporate Germany and Croatia.
Russell Andrew, Managing Director commented: “Our passion is the consistent delivery of class-leading customer services, whether it be for days trips to special events, extended journeys in the UK or complete holiday packages at home and abroad.
“To achieve that we need vehicles that are stylish, immaculately finished and perform reliably every day. In particular, we need coaches that provide high capacity and lots of options in terms of the jobs they can tackle. Our new Panthers meet that criteria and are a valuable addition to our fleet.”
Both vehicles are B8R 350bhp models with I-Shift transmissions.
