Operating with over 60 vehicles providing contract bus and school services across Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and parts of North Hampshire, the team at Courtney Coaches was in high spirits this week when it took delivery of its latest state-of-the-art vehicles.
All six are Enviro200 midi buses from Alexander Dennis Limited (ADL), five of which have gone straight into service on some on the 40-plus routes operated by Courtney Coaches. They are the latest 8.9m, 30-seat Euro6 models, complete with high specification CCTV, WiFi, USB chargers and LED under-seat lighting.
A sixth vehicle, finished to the same specification, is a 9.7m, 34-seat model and will operate exclusively at the Bombay Sapphire Distillery and Visitor Centre, which is located at Laverstoke, between Basingstoke and Andover. It has been finished in a stunning livery that replicates the brand’s famous, international identity and will be used to ferry visitors to-and-from the nearest railway stations at Overton and Micheldever.
Malcom Venn, Engineering Manager at Courtney Coaches commented: “The Enviro200s have slipped seamlessly into our fleet. They have a reputation second to none for maneuverability, fuel efficiency and being well liked by both drivers and passengers. In addition, they are stylish and all six of our latest ADL vehicles have low-emission Euro6 engines.”
He added: “The 9.7m version has a spectacular exterior finish and will certainly not be missed. It is ideal for visitor groups to the Bombay Sapphire Distillery and for ferrying their staff to and from the centre. It’s fair to say that the new buses have raised our spirits – in more ways than one.”
All six vehicles are powered by Cummins ISBe four-cylinder engines with Voith gearboxes.
