Tyrers Coaches, one of the most highly respected transport companies in the North of England has introduced two Enviro400 double decks from Alexander Dennis Limited (ADL) into their 80-strong fleet of vehicles.
Based at Cowling Brow, in Chorley, the family run business has been part of the transport landscape in Manchester, Bolton, Preston, Wigan, Blackburn and the north west region for over 45 years, providing a wide variety of luxury coach services for school transport, tours, excursions and private hire.
The new double decks are both 11.5m, 86-seat models powered by Cummins 6.7 litre ISBe 250PS engines and ZF six-speed EcoLife transmissions. They are fully seat-belted and have white aluminium poles throughout, allow wheels, ferry lift, CCTV with V400 recorder, wood affect flooring, high-back seats, LED staircase lighting and sophisticated passenger information systems.
Richard Buckle, Managing Director of Tyrers Coaches, said: “We are delighted with the new Enviro400s. They have an excellent, luxury specification and are ideal for a wide range of hire services. The combination of high seating capacity and a quality finish provides a powerful business proposition that makes sense on many fronts, notably for school transport, corporate outings and events such as weddings.”
Charlie Miller, ADL’s Regional Sales Manager for Scotland and the North West of England, commented: “The popularity of our high-spec Enviro400s is growing by the minute and I’m convinced this is a trend that will continue to gather momentum, establishing a new market niche in the process. In today’s world people are looking for a quality finish, particularly when it comes to a special occasion, so in that sense the Enviro400 is ideal, bringing together capacity and comfort, particularly for short and medium-distance journeys.”
