Lochs Motor Transport has added a new, high specification Plaxton Elite to its line-up of modern buses and coaches.
Based on the Isle of Lewis, the family-run business has been operating for more than 70 years and prides itself in staying at the forefront of the industry with stylish, state-of-the-art vehicles that set the pace for the industry.
The latest addition is a 12.6m, 51-seat B11R with I-shift transmission. It has wood effect flooring, automatic dimming lights in the saloon, gangway LED lighting, recliner seats with three-point safety belts, rear mounted toilet, Bosch radio and DVD, PA system, eight-camera CCTV, GPS tracking, alloy wheels and is fully DDA compliant with a PLS lift at the front entrance.
Company director Roddy MacDonald, who runs the business with his sister Ann Smith, said the new Elite is a welcome addition to their fleet. It will support the services they provide for cruise ship passengers arriving in Stornoway who are keen to tour the Western Isles and the North of Scotland. It will also operate on private hires for football and golf tournaments, as well as school trips.
Roddy commented: “We have worked closely with Plaxton and the Alexander Dennis team for many years and both our bus and coach fleets are dominated by their vehicles. The Elite has an outstanding track record in terms of overall performance, passenger comfort and kerb appeal. It is also popular with drivers and passengers, which is a big bonus.”
