Published: 08 Jun 2019

Alexander Dennis Chief Executive Colin Robertson has been awarded a CBE (Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) in the Queen’s Birthday honours 2019 for his services to exports and to the bus and coach manufacturing sector.

The honour recognises Colin Robertson’s leadership as Chief Executive of Alexander Dennis Limited, where he supports innovation to ensure buses and coaches contribute to sustainable transport with the market’s widest range of low and zero emission technologies.

He continues to champion skills and opportunities through the company’s expanded apprenticeship scheme as well as a growing graduate development programme and its Leadership Academy, which identifies and nurtures talent within the business.

A passionate advocate for entrepreneurial culture, Colin Robertson was appointed Chairman of Entrepreneurial Scotland earlier this year.

Colin Robertson says: “I am deeply humbled by this honour. I could not have achieved any of this without the fantastic team I have the privilege of leading at Alexander Dennis. This reinforces my commitment to inspire others to be even more entrepreneurial and to support and nurture the fantastic talent we have here in Scotland, the UK and around the world.”
