Plaxton Leopards fit the bill for Borders Buses

Published: 01 Oct 2019

Borders Buses, part of the West Coast Motors Group, has introduced two Plaxton Leopards to its growing fleet of vehicles operating across the Scottish Borders, Edinburgh, the Lothians, Northumberland and Cumbria.

Both of the new coaches are 12.8m 72-seat B8R models with I-shift transmission, air conditioning throughout, sophisticated audio and passenger information systems, CCTV, reversing cameras and alloy wheels.

They are now operating on private hires and in support of the extensive school transport programmes operated by the company.

Colin Craig, Managing Director of Borders Buses, said the new Leopards form part of the company’s on-going investment in modern, eco-friendly vehicles.

He commented: “We have a long-established and successful business relationship with Alexander Dennis Limited and their Plaxton operation, both in terms of bus and coach purchases. Our aim is to stay at the forefront of the industry by providing best-in-class services and to do that we need low emission vehicles that are modern, stylish and perform well.

“Our business varies widely, covering service routes, school contracts, private hires and special events. We also operate in a diverse range of locations, covering towns, cities and rural areas, which means we need vehicles that can tackle multiple tasks. The Plaxton Leopard fits the bill, combining capacity with comfort, performance and a real street presence.”
