Lanarkshire based Whitelaws has introduced a further four low carbon certified Euro6 Enviro200s as it bids to stay at the forefront of the industry with a modern, environment-friendly fleet that sets the pace in the public transport sector.
All of the new vehicles are 10.8m 41-seat models with e-leather high-back seats and safety belts, sophisticated 10-camera Synetics CCTV systems and T1600 recorders, plus wood effect flooring and Mobitec LED destination equipment. They are powered by Cummins ISBe 180PS four-cylinder engines and Voith D824.6 gearboxes.
The new additions join four similar Alexander Dennis buses delivered earlier this year, while a further two identical vehicles will go into service with the Lanarkshire fleet this month (November), taking Whitelaws total low carbon Enviro200 introductions in 2017 to 10.
Sandra Whitelaw, Managing Director of the business explained: “In 2015 we set the objective of having all our service routes in Lanarkshire supported by low carbon, high specification vehicles within two years. We are well on target to achieve that with a total of 22 LCEB Enviro200s set to be running by mid-November.
“The public have responded well to our extensive investment programme. They clearly enjoy cleaner, greener buses that are stylish, reliable and contribute to a better environment.”
