Hatton’s Travel, based in St. Helens, has taken delivery of a new 29-seat 8.9m Enviro200. It is the third such midi bus to join their fleet this year and, like the others, it has a Cummins ISBe 140PS engine and Allison 2100 gearbox.
The business, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, has also “come of age” in terms of its relationship with Alexander Dennis.
Company Director Brian Hatton commented: “It is 21 years since we bought our first Dennis Dart and in that time we have come a long way as a business, expanding our service routes across St. Helens, Widnes, Blackbrook, Prescot, Eccleston, Gillars Green, Bold Heath, Lingley Green, Newton-le-Willows, Kirkby, Wigan and wider afield.
“In all of that time we have remained loyal to the ADL brand, having bought around 40 Darts and Enviro200s, as the various models have been introduced progressively. The Enviro200 and its predecessor vehicles are without question the most manoeuvrable, fuel efficient and best performing midi buses in the UK. Our drivers like them, our engineers know them inside out and – most important of all – they are popular with passengers. You really can’t ask for more than that.”
In parallel with his expanding bus operations, Brian has also been busy establishing Hatton’s Travel at the forefront of the coach industry and now operates a fleet of modern, luxury vehicles that support school transport programmes, private hires, day trips, excursions and holiday options.
He commented: “As a family-run business our aim has always been to establish and maintain a reputation for class-leading service and, if I say so myself, our relationship with the Alexander Dennis group has helped us achieve just that.”
