Alexander Dennis, a subsidiary of NFI Group Inc., one of the world’s leading independent global bus manufacturers, today announced that it has now delivered five Enviro200 single deck buses in less than two years to Prentice Coaches of Haddington.

The latest addition to the Scottish independent’s immaculate fleet is a 9.7m long vehicle certified as a Low Emission Bus thanks to its SmartPack efficiency enhancements that include engine stop-start technology and auxiliary load management. Its Alexander Dennis SmartSeats have been fitted with three-point belts and USB charging points, while a cab door screen helps to protect drivers.

It follows an earlier Enviro200 of the same length this spring, as well as three 10.8m examples last year. Prentice Coaches also operates ten previous-generation Enviro200. The buses are used an extensive network of scheduled services which the company, which was founded in 1991 and remains in family ownership and management, operates throughout East Lothian.

Managing Director Ross Prentice says: “We pride ourselves in providing our customers with a smart and comfortable fleet. The Enviro200 gives us a great specification for passengers and drivers and helps us reduce our impact on the climate and environment with Alexander Dennis’s fuel-saving technology.”

Alexander Dennis Senior Regional Sales Manager Charlie Miller handed over the vehicle and adds: “It is an honour to continue to support Prentice Coaches in delivering first-class services for which the company has rightly won multiple awards. With its SmartPack enhancements, this latest Enviro200 will again help to keep down operating costs for Ross and his team.”
