Alexander Dennis Limited (“ADL”), a subsidiary of NFI Group Inc. (“NFI”), one of the world’s leading independent global bus manufacturers, today announced that announced that it has supplied another brand new, low-carbon Enviro200 bus to Scottish operator Prentice of Haddington.
The delivery is the fourth low-carbon Enviro200 bus that Prentice of Haddington has ordered from ADL in the last 18 months.
The vehicle is 9.7m long and fitted with ADL’s award-winning SmartPack efficient diesel technology which saves fuel and reduces emissions by combining engine stop/start and electrically driven cooling fans with the smart management of alternator and air compressor to only charge during vehicle deceleration when they place no additional load on the engine. The Enviro200 with SmartPack is certified as a Low Emission Bus by the UK’s Zemo Partnership.
The bus has 34 seats and will go into service on the company’s bus routes around East Lothian which it has been operating for over 30 years. It means the Prentice of Haddington customer fleet is now made up completely of Euro 6 vehicles.
Managing Director Ross Prentice said: “We are committed to playing our part in tackling climate change and the delivery of another low-carbon vehicle – the fourth in our fleet – will help us do that. We look forward to this bus going into service for our many customers.”
Charlie Miller, ADL Senior Regional Sales Manager, added: “It’s always a pleasure to work with Ross and the team at Prentice of Haddington. This order again underlines their commitment to reducing their impact on the environment and we look forward to working with them again in the future.”
