The BYD ADL Enviro400EV is the zero emission double deck bus from BYD and Alexander Dennis Limited (ADL).
Using the proven combination of BYD electric technology and batteries with stylish bodywork and passenger-centric interior by ADL, the BYD ADL Enviro400EV is designed by ADL in the UK and BYD’s R&D Centre in Shenzhen, China.
The finished buses are assembled in Britain by ADL, just like all BYD ADL joint products.
The 10.9m long BYD ADL Enviro400EV electric double deck buses features ADL’s eye-catching City style bodywork with a glazed staircase. It is available to Transport for London comprehensive specification for routes in the capital, as well as in operators’ individual specifications for service elsewhere.
The BYD ADL Enviro400EV uses BYD’s Iron-Phosphate battery technology which enables the buses to run all day on a single charge using cost effective off-peak electricity.
The infrastructure required to maintain the vehicle, such as charging points, can be supplied by BYD and is easily deployable and more than flexible enough to comply with relevant building and planning regulations.
