Meet the Enviro200

The Enviro200 is Britain's favourite single deck bus. Its lightweight design makes it highly fuel efficient and cost-effective to run. It has been developed through a unique partnership involving our world-leading design and engineering teams, specialist suppliers and customers from all parts of the industry.

The Enviro200 is accredited as a Low Emission Bus by the Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership (LowCVP) when fitted with the award-winning SmartPack efficient diesel technology, developed in-house by Alexander Dennis.

SmartPack combines engine stop/start and electrically-driven cooling fans with the smart management of alternator and air compressor to only charge during vehicle deceleration when they place no additional load on the engine. This results in a reduction in well-to-wheel greenhouse gas emissions and fuel consumption of 24% in the LowCVP test cycle.

Innovation for safety & style

The Enviro200 is available in lengths of 8.9m, 9.7m, 10.4m, 10.8m and 11.5m when fitted with a four-cylinder engine, and as an 11.8m model with six-cylinder engine. It can be fitted with one or two passenger doors and interior layouts to suit a wide variety of uses including busy city services, regional buses and airport transfers.

Its interior is tailored to deliver a bespoke journey experience with a choice of passenger-centric features such as skylights, social seating, mood lighting or device charging options.

Safety is improved with the SmartVision system which replaces external mirrors with cameras whose view is displayed on screens inside the cab and is digitally enhanced to improve visibility in low light and other difficult conditions. Intelligent Speed Assist prevents drivers from inadvertently exceeding the speed limit, while pedal indication lights provide warning of potential confusion between accelerator and brake pedals. A higher grading on non-slip flooring gives a surer footing to passengers, while an acoustic vehicle alerting system alerts other road users to the presence of the bus.
