Alexander Dennis, a subsidiary of NFI Group Inc., a leader in propulsion-agnostic bus and coach mobility solutions, today announced that it has delivered a new Enviro200 low-emission bus to Herefordshire bus operator Sargeant Bros.

The new single decker is the first Alexander Dennis bought directly by the independent, which operates rural bus routes from its base in Kington alongside Hereford town services and school buses.

The investment follows two leased vehicles and two used Enviro200 bought from other operators earlier this year, introducing Alexander Dennis buses to the 35-strong fleet for the first time.

“We found the Enviro200 to be more versatile than competing products and better suited to the country roads here in Herefordshire.”

Sargeant Bros. Managing Director Matt Evans said: “The Alexander Dennis Enviro200 suited us best when we looked for a new partner after our previous fleet supplier decided to cease bus manufacturing for the British market. We found the Enviro200 to be more versatile than competing products and better suited to the country roads here in Herefordshire. With the support from Simon Wood and the Alexander Dennis team, the transition has been made easy for us.”

Sargeants’ new Enviro200 is 10.8m in length, offering 40 passenger seats with three-point belts at all fixed seats, wood-effect flooring and accessible audio-visual passenger information. It’s SmartPack efficiency technology enhances fuel economy and reduces exhaust emissions.[1]

Simon Wood, Regional Sales Manager for Alexander Dennis, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Sargeants as a new customer and proud to support their continued investment in high-quality bus services. We’re pleased that our Enviro200 has proven to be the right fit for Herefordshire’s operating environment. It’s been a pleasure working with Matt Evans and the Sargeants team, and we look forward to supporting them as they continue to enhance their fleet and deliver vital services to their community.”
