Alexander Dennis, a subsidiary of NFI Group Inc., a leader in bus and coach mobility solutions, today announced that it has delivered an Enviro400 double-deck bus to English operator SBC Coaches of Essex.
The bus is highly specified for use on corporate work. It has wood-effect flooring throughout, and 85 high-backed Lazzerini Pratico seats in a muted grey colour scheme, with three-point belts and USB chargers in the seatbacks.
It is also fitted with a radio and public address system, digital tachograph, Hanover LED destination displays and Centrad CCTV.
Alexander Dennis painted the bus in pure white, ready for SBC’s branding to be applied.
Based in Leigh-on-Sea, Essex, SBC Coaches runs a high-quality fleet of 18 coaches and buses on a mix of corporate work, private hire and school contracts.
The new bus is the first brand new Alexander Dennis vehicle the business has bought.
It joins two Enviro400 double-deckers already in the fleet, one 20-plate and one 22-plate, both bought from prior operators. Together the three buses will fulfil a variety of private hire and schools work that requires high capacity.
Marc Preston, Managing Director of SBC Coaches, said: “We’re very proud of the existing two Enviro400 buses in our fleet, both bought when just a couple of years old. They’re fantastic buses and our passengers love them. To add this brand new Enviro400 as part of our fleet investment this year is a major boon.
“We’re proud to continue investing in high-specification vehicles to ensure our customers across Essex and beyond enjoy comfortable, reliable, and modern travel every time they journey with us.”
Mark Taylor, Regional Sales Manager for Alexander Dennis, said: “We’re delighted to hand over this beautifully-specified, British-built Enviro400 to SBC Coaches – the first time they’ve bought a brand-new bus from us. It’s particularly pleasing that they’ve made the purchase based on the performance of their second-hand Enviro400 buses. Huge thanks to Marc and the team for putting their trust in Alexander Dennis.”
