Alexander Dennis Limited (“ADL”), a subsidiary of NFI Group Inc. (“NFI”), one of the world’s leading independent global bus manufacturers, today announced that it has supplied Shetland operator Johnson Transport Ltd with a brand new, British-built Plaxton Panther coach.

The Euro 6 coach – built on a Volvo B8R chassis – has 57 seats and a range of passenger-friendly features including extendable seats, air conditioning and USB points. It is also fitted with alloy wheels, a DAB smart radio and a DVD player.

Johnson Transport provides bus and coach services to the local authority through scheduled routes and school services, as well as to the oil & gas industry in Shetland.

Director Gary Johnson said: “We are committed to ensuring that our bus and coach fleet continues to be modern and this new coach is a great addition to the fleet, where it will complement the range of vehicles we operate on different parts of our network. This is a high quality vehicle which I have no doubt that our customers will enjoy travelling on.”

Charlie Miller, ADL Senior Regional Sales Manager, added: “This coach offers comfort, quality and reliability and we’re delighted that Gary and the team at Johnson Transport have chosen us again for their first new full-size coach since 2014. The choice of Plaxton supports jobs at our factory in Scarborough as well as in our extensive domestic supply chain and ensures that Britain’s last remaining coach builder continues to thrive.”
