Alexander Dennis, a subsidiary of NFI Group Inc., one of the world’s leading independent global bus manufacturers, today announced that it has supplied another two Enviro200 low-emission buses to family business Shiel Buses for its services in the Scottish Highlands.
The new 10.8m long buses are fitted with Alexander Dennis’s award-winning SmartPack efficiency enhancements including stop-start engines, giving them Low Emission Bus status. Passengers benefit from wood effect flooring, double-padded Alexander Dennis SmartSeats trimmed in sustainable Scottish leather, USB charging points and audio technology with saloon speakers.
Shiel Buses, which is also known as Busaichean Seile in Gaelic, has been in business for over 40 years. The family-owned company’s bus services are focused on Fort William and provide vital links throughout Lochaber with a fleet of around 50 vehicles, many of them Alexander Dennis Enviro200 single deckers.
Shiel Buses Managing Director David MacGillivray said: “The delivery of these new buses has been great news for our customers – they’re equipped with features and technology to further improve the journey experience for our passengers and have proven very popular since their introduction.”
In December last year Alexander Dennis also delivered a brand new Plaxton Panther Cub coach to the operator.
Alexander Dennis Senior Regional Sales Manager Charlie Miller said: “We’re delighted to continue our positive relationship with Shiel Buses and appreciate their continued support and loyalty towards Alexander Dennis. Building relationships with our customers is based on more than price – we work hard to make the process as easy as possible and to deliver the highest quality vehicles that meet their exact requirements.”
