Alexander Dennis, a subsidiary of NFI Group Inc., one of the world’s leading independent global bus manufacturers, today announced that it has delivered a new Enviro400 double deck bus to English independent operator Hammonds Coaches of Nottingham.

The manufacturer’s availability of stock-built vehicles meant that Alexander Dennis was able to finish the bus in Hammonds Coaches’ colours and deliver it just one month after it was ordered.

The Enviro400 offers 84 high-backed seats with three-point belts alongside a permanent wheelchair bay with an additional tip-up seat in a refined interior characterised by wood-effect flooring and vinyl headrests. A public address system with six speakers allows the driver to communicate easily with passengers, who can top up the charge of their mobile devices from USB-A and USB-C ports.

Full PSV Accessibility Regulations (PSVAR) compliance gives Hammonds Coaches flexibility to use the new double decker on school and corporate contracts as well as private hire.

“The quick availability of this vehicle from Alexander Dennis has been a real benefit for us”

Hammonds Coaches Managing Director Nick Hammond said: “The quick availability of this vehicle from Alexander Dennis has been a real benefit for us, allowing us to quickly add a new bus to our fleet in response to growing demand. The Enviro400 provides excellent value for money with its high seating capacity and a robust and easy-to-maintain driveline.”

Simon Wood, Regional Sales Manager for Alexander Dennis, said: “It has been a real pleasure to support Hammonds Coaches with this new Enviro400 double decker. All of our stock vehicles are built to a great specification that we can quickly enhance to meet individual operators’ requirements and get new buses on the road in no time.”
