Alexander Dennis, a subsidiary of NFI Group Inc., today announced that it has supplied English operator Whites Coaches of St Albans with its first Enviro400 double-decker.

The 11.5m-long bus has 85 Lazzerini Pratico seats in Camira Vita non-animal leather with white diamond stitching. It has three-point seatbelts throughout, as well as USB chargers in the seatbacks.

The bus is fully kitted out with a radio/PA system, digital tachograph, Hanover LED destination equipment and CCTV supplied by Centrad.

Externally, it’s beautifully finished with tinted glass and Whites’ usual graphite grey metallic paintwork.

The Enviro400 has been bought for private hire work requiring higher-capacity vehicles.

It’s the first Alexander Dennis vehicle in the Whites St Albans line-up, and the highest-capacity by some 30 seats: the operator specialises in luxury minicoaches, with a handful of 51-55-seater coaches completing the fleet.

Whites Coaches was established in the Hertfordshire cathedral city of St Albans in 1960 by Roger White, father of the current owner and operator Greg White. Since Greg took the reins in 2003, the business has shifted focus to the executive private hire market, with particularly high standards of safety, vehicle luxury, and customer care.

Greg White, Managing Director of Whites Coaches, said: “At Whites we are always looking for something a bit different, and in this case, a higher-capacity vehicle to further complement what we can offer our clients.

“We believe there is without doubt a niche in this particular market, and we feel the Enviro400 represents a very stylish and cost-effective way for us to dip our toe in the water.

“At only 11.5m it will be much easier to utilise for corporate shuttles and dinners in London than any of its competitors, and with the usual Whites refinements this vehicle looks absolutely stunning.

“Dealing with the team at Alexander Dennis has been extremely simple throughout, and we very much look forward to seeing the Enviro400 in action.”

Mark Taylor, Regional Sales Manager for Alexander Dennis, said: “It’s been a pleasure working with Greg White and the team for the first time.

“We are seeing more top-tier coach operators come to Alexander Dennis for reliable, premium and British-built vehicles for high-capacity work, and we’re very proud that we can now count Whites Coaches among them. A big thank you to the team for choosing Alexander Dennis to supply this beautiful vehicle.”
