As part of its sponsorship ADL has provided an Enviro200 – Britain’s best-selling single deck bus built to a comprehensive specification including comfortable ADL SmartSeats and the award-winning SmartPack efficient diesel technology developed in-house by ADL – with a deliberate fault for the contestants to find and fix during the testing week at the S&B Automotive Academy in Bristol from 21st to 25th June. ADL has also arranged a zero-emission capable Enviro400ER electric range bus for hybrid system supplier BAE Systems to set a similar challenge.
ADL firmly believes that schemes like the IRTE Skills Challenge are vital to the success of the industry as they make a valuable contribution to up-skilling technicians and identifying knowledge gaps within the industry, and welcomes the return of the event after a year’s absence due to the pandemic.
