Alexander Dennis, a subsidiary of NFI Group Inc., one of the world’s leading independent global bus manufacturers, today announced that it has worked with Dawsongroup bus and coach to provide a pair of Alexander Dennis Enviro200 buses to Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust on a rental solution.
The two 8.9m Enviro200 have upgraded the Hospital Hopper service which provides a connection between the trust’s two hospitals in Surrey for staff, patients and visitors. With 30 seats and a spacious, easily accessible wheelchair bay they provide extra capacity on the route, which had previously been operated by minibuses.
The single deck buses were built by Alexander Dennis at its factory in Scarborough and are owned by Dawsongroup bus and coach, which provides them to the NHS trust on a rental solution.
Jan Kruger, Transport & Fleet Manager at Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, says: “Our Hospital Hopper is a vital link between our two sites for our team as well as our patients and visitors. We are delighted to be able to provide additional capacity for them with our new buses, which combine a great seating capacity with outstanding manoeuvrability.”
Mark Taylor, Regional Sales Manager at Alexander Dennis, adds: “Once again, the Enviro200 provides the perfect solution for an operator’s requirements, reinforcing why it remains the country’s favourite single deck bus. We’re delighted that our British buses get to play their part in delivering the NHS’s valued services for our nation.”
Fraser Innes, Sales Director at Dawsongroup bus and coach, says: “A key benefit of our rental packages is working closely with our clients to fully understand their requirements and deliver a solution tailored to their business. We have been delighted to work with Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to deliver on all fronts and help expand its Hospital Hopper service to meet increased demand for staff, patient, and visitor transportation.”
