Alexander Dennis, a subsidiary of NFI Group Inc., one of the world’s leading independent global bus manufacturers, today announced that it is supplying nine new Enviro200 single deck buses to Compass Travel this year.

The independent business, which is a member of the ALBUM group of operators and runs services throughout West Sussex, East Sussex, Brighton and Surrey, continues to invest in its modern fleet.

Compass Travel already has over 65 Alexander Dennis buses in service. Four new, 10.8-metre Enviro200 with 40 comfortable Alexander Dennis SmartSeats have now been completed by the manufacturer and are about to join the Compass Travel fleet. Another five have been ordered for delivery in the autumn. These will be built to a length of 8.9 metres and will seat 30.

All of Compass Travel’s new Enviro200 are low-emission buses using Alexander Dennis’s award-winning SmartPack efficiency technology, combining Euro VI engines with stop/start technology and auxiliary load management.

Compass Travel Managing Director, Chris Chatfield, said: “The Enviro200 makes up most of our bus fleet and has proved itself to be an extremely reliable performer that helps us keep our operating costs down with its excellent fuel economy. Combined with the first-rate aftermarket support we enjoy through AD24, it has therefore been an easy choice to return to Alexander Dennis for this year’s new buses and we’re looking at a potential order for five more for the first quarter of next year.”

Alexander Dennis Regional Sales Manager, Mark Taylor, added: “Compass Travel is a great success story in the South of England, consistently growing its network and offering customers an excellent experience thanks to a well-maintained fleet. I’m delighted that our Enviro200 will continue to underpin this and I look forward to handing over this year’s vehicles to Chris and his team.”
