Alexander Dennis, a subsidiary of NFI Group Inc., one of the world’s leading independent global bus manufacturers, today announced that it has delivered a further two Enviro400 double deck buses to D&E Coaches of Inverness.

The award-winning family business is the North of Scotland’s premier private hire provider with its fleet of 64 vehicles, in which the new buses join a similar pair of Enviro400 double deckers and an Enviro200 single decker bought last year.

D&E Coaches’ new high-capacity buses are fitted with 85 fully belted Alexander Dennis SmartSeats, allowing them to be flexibly used on scheduled services, school and private hires as well as cruise ship shuttles. Their specification includes wood-effect flooring as well as a public address and music system with saloon speakers.

D&E Coaches Managing Director Donald Mathieson, who founded the business with his wife Elizabeth and continues to oversee it with son Bryan and daughters Amy and Gayle, said: “We were looking for vehicles that can be used on a variety work while offering high capacity at a reasonable price. The Enviro400 from Alexander Dennis ticked all these boxes for us and the new buses are settling well into our fleet alongside the similar vehicles we bought last year, getting great feedback from our customers.”

Alexander Dennis Retail Sales Director Charlie Miller added: “We have been delighted to win this business, which represents a huge investment for this respected family business. It has been a pleasure to deal with Donald and set this delivery up effortlessly and quickly. With our other vehicles in the fleet, D&E Coaches are already familiar with our great AD24 aftermarket and find it very easy to access all our support through AD24’s digital portal.”
