Alexander Dennis, a subsidiary of NFI Group Inc., one of the world’s leading independent global bus manufacturers, today announced that it has delivered two Plaxton Leopard coaches to Lochs Motor Transport, based on the Isle of Lewis in the Western Isles of Scotland.
Finished to two different specifications, the new coaches will be flexible assets suited to a variety of work including scheduled services as well as hires.
Built on the sturdy Volvo B8R chassis, one is a 59-seater with I-Shift transmission, while the other has a ZF automatic gearbox and 72 seats. Both are fitted with destination displays and a wheelchair lift, complying with PSV Accessibility Regulations (PSVAR).
Lochs Motor Transport Director Roddy Macdonald said: “Coach operation in the Western Isles is very varied, so it is great to have this new pair of Plaxton Leopard coaches. They add operational flexibility to our fleet while retaining technical commonality with our other large vehicles, all of which are built on Volvo chassis and which include several other Plaxton coaches.”
Charlie Miller, Retail Sales Director at Alexander Dennis, added: “This delivery is a great example of the Plaxton Leopard’s ability to meet different operational requirements with its wide range of specifications on a common platform. We’re delighted that Roddy and his team have chosen our Plaxton coaches and look forward to seeing them add value to Lochs Motor Transport’s bottom line for many years to come.”
